Dean Rioli
Dean Rioli’s highlight of his long and
memorable AFL career was his first game.
“It was Michael Long’s first game as captain and Lloydy
kicked 13. Just coming off the rookie list to play that game was
something I’ll remember forever.”
Dean hit his strides at the Essendon bombers as the most dynamic
utility from 1998 to 2006, where he was part of the premiership
winning team.
After playing his 100th AFL game, he retired at age 28.
Hailing from the Tiwi Islands Dean Ausiie rules is in Deano’s
blood and he is a very humble and calm natured character.
Dean has been involved in promoting apprenticeships to indigenous
Australians, opal fuel as well as coaching and promoting self esteem
in youth detention centres.
Most recently Dean has worked extensively with Nova Peris and Indigenous
Health.
