Congratulations to both "Too Deadly for Drugs" U13 rugby league teams that particpated in the David Peachey Foundation Knockout carnival on the 29th & 30th September - kinship Australia sponsored the Local Dubbo team. it was an exciting game, and both teams were crowd pleasers and showed their talent & potential as future NRL players. the boys played as a curtin raiser to the grandfinal. 22 teams particpated in the David Peachey Knockout and once again teams and community members from NSW "Country walked away from a very successful and memorable carnival.
Nova & Bo De La Cruz were there over the weekend and promoted the child health checks - and all particapants of the Inaugual Netball knockout from u8 - u18 girls as well as children who attended the weekend knockout were given hats t-shirts and waterbottles promoting the child health checks and Thubbo Aboriginal Medical Service provided their health workers to hand out products and give first hand information & advice on the dangers of illicit drug use and the importance of regular health checks for our kids.
On Monday - Nova & Bo conducted rugby league clinics with David Peachey at his - "David Peachey Foundation" Football clinic. over 300 kids were there from 9am to 2pm to recieved first hand mentoring from David, Nova & Bo.
Congraulations David Peachey on a wonderful and memorable 12 years at the top in your sport. You are a icon not only to your sport but to all indigenous people over the nation. I am sure that all who have followed your career enjoyed watching as much as you did playing, you maybe gone from the sport but you have left a legacy behind for those kids who dare to dream.
