Luke Carroll
Luke Carroll began acting at the age of nine
and is an extremely successful and naturally gifted actor. Luke
has recently been involved in the TV series ‘The Alice’
and ‘Remote Area Nurse’ but has returned to theatre
in Louis Nowra’s stage production of Xavier Herbert’s
Australian Novel ‘Capricornia.’
While Luke has enjoyed success on the screen, Capricornia has been
a welcome return to theatre after a two year break.
Sydney-based actor Luke Carroll recently completed his first feature
role in the hard-hitting movie ‘Australian Rules.’ The
movie involves relationships and racism between the black and white
players in a small country town’s AFL team and is based on
the book Deadly, Unna? Written by Phillip Gywnne.
Luke plays the role of Dumby, the team’s star player who,
despite helping lead them to victory, is overlooked come presentation
time. Never having played AFL before, Luke underwent an intensive
four-week training period with a local team in Adelaide before shooting
commenced.
Despite being only 27, Luke has over 14 years’ experience
as an actor in television and theatre.
Luke has worked as an advocate with Nova Peris in Indigenous Health.
